What is Best Bluetooth Headset Available

The Bluetooth hands free cell phone use is a boon to cell phone users in general but are especially appreciated by those who spend a lot of time driving, such as traveling sales reps, truck drivers, cabbies and busy moms chauffeuring kids to scout meetings, soccer and baseball games and much more.

The biggest problem users complain about is that while they allow for hands free use of cell phones, they pick up a lot of extraneous noise and it is sometimes difficult to hear the person you are talking to.  Most Bluetooth headsets and earbuds filter out some of the noise, but there is still a lot of noise getting through such as road noise and loud conversations, etc.

The best we found for both sound quality and noise filtration is the Aliph Jawbone Noise Shield.  The manufacturer claims that this headset has an “advanced military grade noise cancelling system which continuously adapts to your environment.”

This device was initially developed for “The  Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency” (a.k.a. – D.A.R.P.A.) to create a device that can pick-up voices in a dangerous environment.

One would expect this unit to be super expensive.  Although the list price is $149.99 but currently are discounted to around $85.00, which is a huge discount in anybody’s book.

This headset works extremely well with the Apple i-phone.  Most of the other headsets are more noise reducers as opposed to noise eliminators.  The Jawbone can be used with most other Bluetooth enabled cell phones, not just the i-phones.

If you are looking to buy a new Bluetooth headset for your phone you may want to take a look at the Jawbone.  It is highly rated by the users we have talked to.  It really does block a lot of extraneous noise. This of course would please almost everyone, however it is particularly welcomed by those who have some mild hearing loss.

One problem is that if you lose the cable you can’t replace it and have to get a new headset.  So keep a close eye on your Jawbone and any accessories that you may have purchased with it.  I had an older less efficient Bluetooth until I read about this and bought one the next day.  I wouldn’t trade it for anything currently on the market.

Once you’ve used this headset in a noisy environment you will never want to use any other headset.  If your local phone store doesn’t carry the Aliph Jawbone Noise Shield shop for it on line.  I’d suggest you get one for your spouse or yours may come up missing.  It seems like something new concerning cell phones and headsets is announced every day.  It will be hard to top the Jawbone.
