Use PC Internet Connection on Cell Phone Via Bluetooth
In order to exchange files between your phone and computer both must be Bluetooth enabled. If your computer doesn’t have Bluetooth you will need to purchase a BT device called a “dongle”. This allows your PC to communicate with other enabled devices.
Before you try to get your phone to send files to your computer or to accept material from the PC make sure that both are Bluetooth enabled. Most cell phones now being sold have this installed.
Turn on Bluetooth with the switch on the side of your computer – the one that allows you to use your laptop’s wireless (WiFi) ability.
To activate your this look in your system tray. Then right click on the Bluetooth icon and choose Bluetooth settings.
Next click on options and choose turn discovery on. Now you need to activate and configure bluetooth on the phone and then name the phone. This can be seen by other enabled users, searching for a compatible device such as a printer, PC, etc. Set Bluetooth visibility on invisible. Turn off when not in use.
From your PC right click on Bluetooth at the bottom of device tab. Then choose add. The wizard will come up. Next select my device in set up and ready to be found. Click on next. If the wizard doesn’t find your phone go back and try again to activate the Bluetooth on the phone.
You will be prompted to enter a passkey, choose “let me select my own.” Windows prefers 8 to 16 digits. Your computer will try to connect to your phone via Bluetooth. If this is successful your phone will ask for a passkey. Use the same one as the computer. If you are asked to accept a connection from your computer, select yes.
Now you can transfer files, click on receive fit. All phones are different and may perform tasks differently. This is just a basic method for transferring files. Use the instructions that came with your phone and or PC.
Locate the picture or file that you want to transfer and choose send through Bluetooth connection. Your phone will search its range and display those paired with devices. Select your computer. The file will now transfer. Your computer will ask for a file name and want you to choose a location for the file: desktop, my pictures, documents, etc.
Remember that both phone and computer must both be Bluetooth enabled in order to transfer files.
Believe me people have complained that they can’t make it work and we discover that at least one device is not Bluetooth enabled. Or they have used an article like this without checking the specific directions for their phone and PC.
It is a great treat not to have to worry about running cables from one device to another. It really isn’t a complicated procedure, relax and follow the steps.
