Samsung Bluetooth Headset Problems

The first thing to remember is that no matter how good a product is, there will always be at least one defective item that slips through.  So just because you see one bad review, it doesn’t mean the product is not up to standards.

However when you see 100+ reviews and there are several posts that claim the same problem you may want to think twice about purchasing that particular headset.

For the Samsung WiP200 we found several complaints about the ear hook breaking easily.  One person claimed that the hook snapped when she was taking out of the package.

The pairing is difficult and the manual does a poor job of explaining the process.

One of the more frequent complaints that you still hear is the fact that you have to put it in the storage case in order to charge the headset.

- The ear buds won’t stay in the ear
- Callers hear an echo
- Poor signal strength even when fairly close caller’s location
- There are frequent complaints about the volume control

Several people have complained that it takes too long to charge.

The range is great but sound quality leaves something to be desired according to my neighbor who recently got a new headset from a different company.

The WeP200 seems to have more problems than most other Samsung headsets.

Some other complaints are there is a short battery life, redial takes too long, headset gets uncomfortable if you need to wear it for a couple of hours.

Another major complaint is that it only allows 4 hours of talk time between charges.  Which is a distinct disadvantage for those who need to use it all day while driving such as long haul truckers, cab drivers and sales reps?

I found this rating kind of amusing, someone wrote of the WeP200.  You have to press and hold the on button for at least 3 seconds to turn it on and considered this a problem and only gave 3 stars.

Before you give a bad rating make sure that your phone is not the problem.  Almost all of the other Samsung headsets that we checked averaged about 4 stars.  Of course some people are never satisfied no matter what.

A few people wrote that they had no problems with the headset.  The three faults that were most often posted were the fragility of the earpiece, the fact that you need the case to charge the headset, the short battery life and no wind protection.

Remember just because you read a bad or great review, it doesn’t mean what was written was true.  Ask people you know if they like their WeP200, if yes why and if no, again why?
