Bluetooth Razr Phone to PC Data Transfer Shareware
What free software or shareware you need to download to your computer depends on what kind of data you are going to transfer to your PC from your Razr phone.
Ringtones/sounds need to be midi or MP3 format. Pictures however must be in jpg form to download free software (shareware): windowspaint.net. This is a free program for Windows XP which converts pics from bmp, gif, tiff or tga formats. Once the pictures are on your PC you can send pictures of your kids, pets, etc., that you took with your camera phone to family and friends.
Videos need 3GP file extension so go to http://3gp.com. There are several applications that can convert mpeg, Quick Time, WindMedia, and AVI to 3gp extension.
You may have to download BT drivers to perform the above tasks. Once you get the proper software loaded on your PC and it recognizes the adapter, power on your phone, go to menu, click on settings and tools, go to connection, select Bluetooth, and next choose set up.
Make sure Bluetooth Power is on. You can at this time and you might want to name your phone.
Select “find me” in the Razr menu, go back to PC and click on my BT places icons. Now the computer should recognize your phone and you will need to enter a pin code, generated by the computer, into the phone. Now your phone and PC should connect. Once connected with Obex file transfer and copy video, audio, pictures you took with your phone.
Did you know that you could upload java games fast by dropping the jan file (commonly used for game files) on to the Obex object push icon? Right click on jan file and select menu. Choose Bluetooth device (your phone) then click on install later.
Get an Internet connection and choose your phone and PC will a USB cable. This allows you to get and send fax and text messages MMS. You can now sync your cell phone list and personal calendar.
You can also edit music files, videos and photos to send via email to clients, suppliers, friends and family. Gone are the days when we needed to carry a mobile phone, camera, address book and a personal calendar to keep track of busy schedules. The process of transferring data from your phone to your computer isn’t difficult once you download the correct shareware for the task at hand.
Before you download these shareware or free programs make sure that your phone is Bluetooth enabled and that your computer can accept the files you want to transfer in order to have a backup copy of the information stored on your phone. You may also want to have a hard copy of your phone list and calendar.
