Bluetooth Phone Hands Free
Almost all cell phones being produced now are Bluetooth enabled. As you may already know Bluetooth, is the technology that allows for wireless communication between devices. For example a headset and a cell phone or a cell phone and PC.
Due to this technology you can have your cell phone on the seat beside you in your car and yet answer an upcoming phone call with the use of a headset that allows you to hear and speak to the caller.
It is even possible to have a voice-activated phone so that you can also make a hands free call. Yes, your phone has to be on to use these or any other features your phone offers.
Most U.S. states municipalities ban hand held use of cell phones while driving. Many European countries also have the same bans. Some ban use of your cell phone if your car engine is running.
So most adult cell phone users have hands free headsets or earpieces that allows them to take calls while driving.
This is of particular benefit to people who drive for a living such as truck and cab drivers, sales persons, bus drivers, to name just a few.
There are many cell phone and Bluetooth device manufacturers and each has it’s own way of pairing phones and headsets, so be sure to read the directions carefully and follow them step by step. If you do this you should have no problems setting up communication between your phone and Bluetooth device.
Use of a headset or earpiece can also free you up to work at your computer, cook, change a tire and any other task that requires use of both hands.
For instance if you have a problem with your computer, you can talk to tech support and correct the situation while they are on the line with you. I am sure you can think of dozens of other situations in which having your hand free while on the phone would be necessary such as in a medical emergency.
Just because it is legal to use your phone while driving if you use a hands free device, you should still limit your talk time. You can’t carry on a conversation and give your full attention to your driving at the same time.
That being said, a Bluetooth enabled phone and earpiece or headset can make your life easier. Call home to let your family know you are stuck in traffic behind a wreck and in case they heard on the news you are not involved, or to report an incident to the police.
Some of these phone set up are voice activated. Although they are more expensive it is well worth the money when you need immediate help.
