Bluetooth Cell Phone Devices Review

You must understand that users usually write reviews and we all know that people are quicker to complain than to praise.  So how do you make a decision based on reviews?

If one person says that XYZ headset is the absolute best or worst ever, it doesn’t mean much.  But if most reviews say stay away from that headset or that you should buy it, you might want to consider following that advice.

Some of the points that people cover when they review headsets and earpieces are: ease of pairing to a cell phone, call time, standby time, and comfort, ease of use, price and comfort when wearing.

You will read many reviews where people claim they had problems pairing a particular headset with their phone.  Usually this is due to the fact that the phone and headset are not compatible.  Some earpieces and headsets are marketed as universal, while they may work with most phones they don’t work with some.

Also be wary of words like perfect, worst ever and other extreme descriptions, good or bad.

If you are rating a Bluetooth product keep it factual.  For instance, one ear bud carried no sound, or the battery runs down much sooner than advertised.  You can also say the sound quality is great; the headpiece is comfortable and easy to use.

Which review would you tend to believe: “This headset is junk, the claim was 6-8 hours of talk time and I only got 4 hours” or “I only got 5 hours but I forgot to turn it off when not in use.”

Often complaints are offered because people attempt to use pair or sync a device without reading the instructions or not following the directions correctly.

Here is what was written about a Cobra BT 200: “Back lit display can be seen at night and in bright sunlight.” and later says the internal speaker is too low and contact list is not easy to import.

If you want to read a review of a particular brand of a Bluetooth device, just do a web search and you should get reviews and sale offers for that item.

Some web sites ask you to rate a product by choosing 1 to 5 stars.  For instance for a Motorola S9 stereo Bluetooth headset for AT&T Tilt there was a one star because a user could not get the S9 to work with the phone.  Another user gave it 5 stars due to ease of use and its great functionality.

It is a good idea to check reviews just to see if there is a common thread about a specific feature good or bad.  Also help others with comments that spell out what you found good or undesirable about a BT device.
