Wireless Devices for Printing
There are numerous wireless devices used for various purposes, and we can not forget about the wireless printers. Printers that connect through wireless means to other components usually use a 54 mbps wireless print server. A multifunction printer can also be connected through a Bluetooth printer adapter to other devices, as a cell phone or a PDA. Also, in case of desktop computers, there have been used the USB print servers to make the experience easier and more at hand.
Printers using ieee 802.11g and ieee 802.11b are the ones that offer the fastest wireless printing, because the speed is enhanced and so is the wireless signal’s strength. For office use, the wireless devices are often a must because a multifunction printer needs to be access from many places at the same time by various people. Sometimes, a wireless printer adapter is required if there’s no included wireless coverage in the first place, or if you simply want to improve the existing coverage.
In a wireless home network, a printing server to which anyone can connect to at speeds in mbps that will assure a good printing quality and outcome is a thing that can make things easier. If you don’t have a wireless adapter for you printer then you would have to copy the documents you need to print form your laptop to your desktop computer, and from here transfer them to the wired printer. This is a huge waste of time and in most cases can raise additional formatting problems, as the docs will be opened from a different device than the one they were written and formatted on. You can experience loss of fonts, of alignment and many other errors that occur in situations like this.
The wireless printer is easy to install. You will basically need a wireless network to start with. Then, if the printer is independent, you need to create a remote print server so that the printer can act on its own and not depend on another computer. However, if this is not possible in your case, you can simply link it to a main computer and install it properly, the share it to the network.
After it has been shared, all the other computers that are connected to the wireless network can access the printer from the network places. Once they click it for the first time they will be prompted to install drivers, and then the printer will be completely functional on each network devices. However, a test print from every computer that connects is required, so that you can deal with any future printing issues from the beginning.
