PSP Wifi Scanner
Sony’s portable play station is not only a reliable and totally portable game console, but it can also become various other things, such as a document or magazine reader, a small portable TV or even a way of accessing the internet.
As you all probably already know, the PsP has an installed wireless capability that allows the console to freely connect to the internet when there’s a wireless internet connection available. But Sony’s technicians never thought of including internet browsing software programs that can permit you to browse web pages or read the email. Still, there are some games that have a sort of web browsers included, so you can use that to surf a bit around the net. You will also have to make some updates and change some setting in the console if you want this to work well, and also be somewhere near a wireless focal point, like a router that allows internet access.
You need to enter the PSP’ menu and choose the setting related to networking. Here you enter the network’s infrastructure and create a network connection. If the wireless transmitter has a name and password (if the network you want to connect to is protected) you will have to enter them on your PSP. The address that you will be getting can be left for automatic setting.
If you want to browse something else that the Sony update page, you need to link the startup page to something else. This can be done by entering the following ip address in the DNS setting: 67.171.70.72. This new ip will take you to a page full of various links to major websites like search engines, movies and audio websites and mail websites. The console should be set to use a proxy. Then you can access the game that offers web browsers for updates, and click on the updates link, and you will be taken online, on a web browser window, where you can change the address from the address bar.
The internet capability of the Sony PSP can be also used for scanning for wireless networks. It can act as an access point for you laptop, and it can offer lots of available wireless networks in the area. The PSPS is an excellent portable scanner as it is, but there are various other scanning possibilities with the help of psp wifi scanner programs available to download for free on the internet.
The laptop and the PSP have to be linked with a new connection that will be made from the console in the way described above, without setting the browser addresses. Then, after you have installed the appropriate wifi scanner programs on the PSP, you can use the laptop to choose any of the strong signal networks available and connect it.
