How To Access Locked Wireless Networks

When creating a home wireless network, most people choose to encrypt the transmission because they want to protect themselves against information theft. Unfortunately, there are some people that use the open wireless networks in the area to connect to them and access the private information stored on these devices and then use names, credit cards, address and even back account in illegal actions.

The idea of simply connecting to another wireless network that is in the area is not illegal in most countries if the network is not locked. Usually people who are connecting to someone else’s wifi network are doing it because there’s no other way of connecting from their current location.

Even if a person locks the network, there are ways of bypassing the security. Over the internet, we can find various software programs that are supposed to get you into any wireless network. There is little talk about them in general because the idea of breaking a network lock is pretty much alike breaking someone’s door lock, which is breaking and entry, or in other words, illegal.

Still, people do it all the time. And most of those who do this are not really aware of the fact that they are doing something work. While getting into someone’s wireless network is fine by most people as long as the owner didn’t choose to lock it, because it’s basically like an open gate, getting into a locked one involves more effort, as you’ll have to deal with the password protection issue.

If all you care about is accessing the internet, there’s another way of getting into that network, but you’d have to be lucky and know or guess the router type. Scan fro wireless networks in the area with a typical sniffer program and then access the router’s page that’s connected to those networks. After you do this, look of the internet for standard passwords that are set by manufacturers for that type of router. While in most cases the standard router password is “Admin”, it some cases it might be something else. If you want this to work and to gain access to the router you will need to get lucky and hope that the owner didn’t think of changing this password as well. But don’t worry, people usually don’t.

For finding out the exact key that locked a network you will need to search the internet for wireless password finders. This shouldn’t be a hard search, but you will need to be careful with the programs you are installing and you should expect having to try a few programs before finding one that does work.
