First off, you need to do a little bit of research to make sure the particular model that you are thinking of purchasing will do exactly what you need. They have a vast variety of different models available at present some of them are very similar but some do offer some unique differences.

You need to decide whether you are looking for a system which answering machine built in. If you in Ireland the likes of Eircom do offer this service on their network however they do charge, so you really need to decide if this is something you are looking for.  And area that you really need to look at is the frequency that the handset will work on. Many other phones work on 2.4 GHz and they also have arranged to work on 5.8 GHz. To 5.8 GHz is less likely to receive from other wireless devices in your home. For example if you have wireless Internet access this can sometimes interfere and cause static on your phone calls. I must also add it’s important that you try and keep your phone away from any wireless routers that you may have.

Panasonic also offer Dect 6.0 phones which work on a different frequency. They are also encrypted which helps to reduce the chance of anybody being able to listen to your calls using a cheap scanner. It’s funny that the people do not realize that on some frequencys people can actually listen to their phone calls. So this might be something you want to consider when shopping for a new telephone.

Depending on which model you look at all so dependent how many handsets come with it. You can buy one that will simply have one handset or you can have one of their products calls with up to six different handsets that you can place in various rooms in your home. Sure, it’s nice to have a big house that will require that many handsets and some people do like the convenience of not having to move very far to answer phone.

You may also want to consider what do you want to be able to plug in a headset and call hands-free. This is a nice convenience if you are working on a computer for example and you are able to receive and make calls at the same time. With the amount of people nowadays working at home is maybe an option that you want to review. Purchasing a headset should not be that much of an ordeal because there are many that are compatible with all Panasonic products.

It’s always helpful to check out reviews of any product before you purchase. You can check out what other consumer information is available on any particular appliance because it’s good to see things for example how good the battery life is for example. Some will come with caller ID enables orders may need to be switched on each individual handset, just make sure you take some time to read the manual when you do make a purchase or you can simply go online and check out what features are before buying.

Call quality is almost the importance you want to make sure whatever systems you are considering offers clear audio. I guess nowadays with so many electronic items in our homes that interference can play havoc sometimes with electronics and this may be something you need to monitor in the beginning when you first get your new cordless phone. I have a particular model that I have been using for a number of years and only recently noticed that it is getting a lot of static across calls and when I go to make calls. It turned out it was interference from an electronic toothbrush that was near to one of the receivers and when it was charging was causing problems. It’s simple to do things like that can really annoy most consumers but it’s not the fault of Panasonic that we have other items were in her home.

Last bit of advice is to make sure that you check the pricing and take some time to make sure you get the best price possible. Simply doing some research and price comparisons you’ll be amazed at how much money you can possibly save.
