AT&T and TerreStar Satellite Solution
AT&T are planning to work with TerreStar Networks so they can offer an integrated smart phone that’ll work with normal wireless connectivity and the ability to connect to a satellite network as a backup. With this solution they are hoping that the onel number will work on both systems.
The TerreStar Genus dual-mode cellular/satellite smartphone will simply allow users to connect to the satellite network where normal mobile wireless network is unavailable. The device will be powered by Windows Mobile OS and comes with a 2.6” touchscreen, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.
