Canon Photo Printers
Canon has been in the photo business long before there were photo printers. They have been one of the leaders in photography for many years and now they are one of the leaders in photo printers. Canon has a huge selection to pick from. They start at around $99.00 for a basic model and go up in price from there. The basic model is just a printer with no bells or whistles, as you go up in price you go up in features. I believe that choosing a printer is just like choosing a car, you have to do some research to find the best one for you. Just because it looks good doesn’t mean it runs good. This also means what is good for one person might not be good for you. There are a few things you need to think about when you buy a Canon printer. Some of these are:
- What features do you need?
- How much do you want to spend?
- Do you want a wireless or portable printer?
- Do you need a printer or an all-in-one?
Once you answer these questions then you can start looking and find the one that is right for you.
The best color printer from Canon is the Pixma series. All of these printers have a rating above average and range in price from around $50.00 to $250.00. All of these printers are compatible with both Windows and Mac. Some are Bluetooth compatible. This series of printers are also energy star rated. This means that they use less power then one that’s not energy star rated. All of these printers have a minimum dpi of around 4600 and can print a 4”x6” borderless print in about a minute. These printers also have a print quality of a laser printer. Some of the printers in this series are portable and some of them use USB cords.
Once you choose your printer you need to maintain it. To do this you should keep handy a few tools so you can be prepared for any problem that arises.
- Tweezers – These will allow you to get anything that is stuck in your printer out.
- Compressed air – This is to get dust out of your printer. This will also get any little pieces of paper out of your printer also.
- Extra ink – This may sound simple but you would be surprised how many people don’t realize that they’re out of ink.
- A set of small screw drivers - This is so you can change out any parts after the warranty is expired.
- A small storage box or bag – This is to help you keep all of your supplies together.
Before you try to repair anything please make sure that you understand what you’re doing because you don’t want to void your warranty. If voiding your warranty is not a problem then there are other things to keep in mind. The first and most important thing is to turn off and unplug your printer. Another thing to keep in mind is to not get over your head. If you don’t understand what the directions mean, don’t do the repair. You can wind up making things worse. Another thing to do before is to check the simple things first like check to see if anything is jammed or stuck in the printer. The easiest solution is usually the easiest fix.
