Best Inkjet Printer

It can become really confusing technically when you start looking at purchasing a new printer. Inkjet printers are probably the most popular and this probably is down to pricing as they are generally a lot cheaper then laser printers (but this is starting to change as prices are beginning to plummet on these also). Without getting to technical to a few standard things that you want to make sure a printer has before you purchase it. Most of these things of course are standard nowadays. You want to make sure a printer comes with a USB port so you can connect it to your computer. Some inkjet printers will come with built in network cards, which are capable of taking a Ethernet cable or also called Cat-5.

Many printers are now also starting to come with wireless features so it saves all this hassle of having to worry about cables and where you left it. It’s also ideal for because you don’t need to have the printer in the same room as your computer which is more people seem to be using laptops nowadays makes so much sense. Many printers now are coming with LCD screens built in this: allow you to edit a photograph for example before you print this out. Generally the printer will have a built in memory card reader so you can simply load your documents or photographs from a memory card or USB key. Using the built in software and the LCD screen you are then able to edit and select what you want to print without the use of using a computer. This is quite ingenious and make some sense if you are using other devices for transferring data or taking photographs this could be the mobile phone camera or as we said already a USB key where you have documents that had been given to you.

So many things to consider before buying a printer you want to compare the quality and review what other people say about certain model numbers from the various manufacturers like Epson, HP, Canon, Brother and Dell to name but a few. There are a number of things that you definitely need to look for when you start to review this. I have obviously mentioned compatibility like USB or simply make sure that you can connect it to your computer one area I neglected to mention was bluetooth. As many laptops now come with this built in your starting to find printers now becoming Bluetooth enabled or you are able to purchase a dongle that can simply plug into the USB port on the printer to allow it to receive data wirelessly using Bluetooth.

The resolution of your printing can be important so this is one area that you need to make sure has really good quality which is measured in dots per inch or DPI. When choosing an inkjet printer just be aware of this. If you are printing out documents with lots of graphics obviously this is a key area that you want to make sure that you get the best quality on the page. Another thing to consider depending on your needs of course is how many pages per minute or PPM it can print. Of course an inkjet printer will never print as fast as LaserJet and generally expect this not to be the best speed.

Because this technology changes and manufacturers come out with new devices on time it’s quite hard to give a particular review on certain models because they change all the time. The important things you should look for when checking out reviews are obviously the price how much it is going to cost you. But, you need to be aware that many manufacturers will offer their printers at a very reasonable price only to discover later that the printer cartridges are quite expensive. The cost of ownership of a printer can be quite significantly higher compared to what you taught in the beginning so make sure you have a real understanding of how much cartridges cost and the cost of ink.
