Wireless DSLR on the Cheap
You may be aware already got the Nikon’s remote WT-4a which is a wireless transmitter costs around $800. The idea behind the adapter is that it will allow you to send images from the camera to your computer over WiFi. It also enables you to remotely control your camera using the Nikon camera control software.
So $800 is quite expensive and a guy called Pete Tsai decided to go out and buy a $40 wireless USB dongle, a AA battery pack, and an angled USB adapter with the intention of putting a whole lot together so he can’t connect to his Nikon D300 to his laptop. The amazing thing is that he actually got this working and is able to transfer files over this WiFi connection in a matter of seconds.
It’s amazing what you can do with equipment probably costing less than €60 compared to the $800 price tag that Nikon are looking for, for their wireless solution.
