Dell Wireless USB Now Available

Submitted by Mark Dunne on May 18, 2009 – 11:16 pmNo Comment

Dell are now supplying wireless USB options into some of their products. So far the auction has been available on the Inspiron range of laptops and their entire range of XPS gaming machines. When these computers are now shipping to with an internal adapter that can support the new start.

The technology that is being used uses ultra-wideband so it can connect to wireless USB. This is an interesting concept because you will be able to wirelessly connect to some of the newest mix of printers, external hard drives and other peripherals that will be coming on board soon. It’s been said that that this short range wireless technology is faster than wired USB 2.0 (which is quite interesting)

Of course this extra option has a price on at the moment it is adding about €120 to the cost of a product. Dell are also adding a Belkin four-port Wireless USB hub to the system bundle.  If you are thinking of purchasing a new laptop or computer tablet to look at this wi-fi technology as it may be something you would use in future.
