Vodafone Ready to Launch App Store
It seems as if everybody is jumping on the bandwagon and opening up application stores. Most of this is of course being driven by Apple’s announcement of anything one billion downloads in nine months and with other manufacturers jumping on board with their own application stores because they see it as a revenue generator.
The announcement that Vodafone are now going to open up their own store which will contain “mobile internet applications and services”, maybe they also see the potential of getting some extra revenue. Apparently Vodafone will have a SDK and a set of APIs this summer ready for software developers.
Some developers may be a little bit dubious in developing mobile phone applications but it must be remembered that they have 300 million subscribers.
