Android Market Officially Launched
Today Google has officially announced the launch of the Android Market. My guess is this will be similar to the iPhone apps store with where you can download app for your Android-powered phone. One nice feature that will be added is users can vote and leave comments on them.
If your a developer and want to upload app you need to pay a once off $25 application fee (which starts next Monday). The fee is not bad really if you think about it, if we’ll discourage a guys that a fooling around but if you develop a really good app this will be a great shopping window for you. A the start you will only be allowed upload free app with the launch of the paid applications from early Q1 2009. According to Google, developers will get 70% of the revenue from each purchase the remaining amount goes to carriers and billing settlement fees-Google does not take a percentage.
