HTC G1 Android Phone Attracts Users

The HTC T-Mobile G1 Android-powered handset is set to launch on October 22nd and HTC are expecting to sell between 400,000 and 500,000 units in Q4 2008, that’s a nice amount of phones in one quarter.

Some insiders are saying that HTC have set targets for next year between 1.5 million to 2 million units of the G1 that’s not bad for a new phone and new OS, that would make HTC NT$7 billion richer in Q4 2008, and NT$18 billion richer next year.

The G1 is developed jointly by Google and HTC and is free unlike the Microsoft Mobile OS.

Some of the features of the G1 may not be in the same spec as the iPhone, however its built-in functions of network application services by Google, including Google Maps, Gmail, Youtube and Google Talk, are the most attractive features for users.
