BlackBerry 8220 Pearl Flip Phone
The Blackberry 8220 is due to launch next month on the T-Mobile network. Over the past few months it’s been rumoured that RIM would target cheap pricing on this to maybe just some share of the student market, but it looks like the pricing will not be in the bargain price range but more in the midrange smartphone range.
- New Activation 2 Year Contract $149.99 (after $50 MIR)
- New Activation 1 Year Contract $199.99 (after $50 MIR)
- Full Upgrade 2 Year Contract $167.99 (after $50 MIR)
- Full Upgrade 1 Year Contract $217.99 (after $50 MIR)
- Partial Upgrade: TBD
- Retail Price: $349.99
So the $50 phones is out and really looking like $150 for a one year contract once you send in your MIR (mail-in rebate). For a Clamshell phone is this price a little high? I guess it’s one of them things that if sales are slow the price will drop. We’ll have confirmed pricing on this in the next few weeks.
